Nepal visa FAQs

Specific to this destination.

Do Indians really not need a passport?

Indians can enter Nepal on a Voter ID, Aadhaar, or passport. We strongly recommend carrying a passport — it's accepted everywhere and required if you fly between Indian and Nepali cities.

Are there any restrictions?

Indians can stay indefinitely under the 1950 treaty, but air travel into Nepal still needs a valid government photo ID. Restricted areas (Mustang, Manaslu) need special permits — we can arrange.

What about working in Nepal?

The treaty allows Indians to work and live, but we focus on tourist travel only. For long-term residence, consult Nepal's Department of Immigration.
